Why Prayer Matters
Prayer is a powerful because it is a direct line that where we can communicate with God.
There are many types of prayer that are in the Bible. Just as there are specific people or groups of people we can pray for, there are many times or prayer that we can pray.
Examples of types of prayer are:
- Praise: Psalm 150:6; Hebrews 13:15; Psalm 145:1-3
- Adoration: Psalm 95:6; Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:11
- Intercession: 1 Timothy 2:1; James 5:16; Romans 8:26-27
- Thanksgiving: 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Colossians 4:2; Psalm 100:4
- Lament: Psalm 13:1-2; Lamentations 3:19-24; Psalm 42:9-11
